How to Enter Hollywood Beverage's Rare Bottle Pick-Up Sweepstakes
If you've ever walked into a liquor store looking for a specific bottle — a highly allocated bourbon, a limited-release single malt, or a small-batch tequila — only to find empty shelves, you already know the frustration. Rare and allocated spirits are some of the most coveted bottles in the world, and they're notoriously hard to come by through normal retail channels.
That's where Oregon's OLCC rare bottle program comes in. And right now, Hollywood Beverage is giving our customers the opportunity to enter — with pick-up at either of our Portland or Gladstone locations.
Entries close September 13, 2026. Here's everything you need to know.
What Are Allocated Bottles?
Allocated spirits are bottles that distilleries produce in limited quantities and distribute through a controlled process — rather than simply stocking shelves. Think:
- Pappy Van Winkle and other Buffalo Trace Antique Collection bourbons
- Blanton's Single Barrel and other highly sought Kentucky whiskeys
- Limited-release Japanese whiskies from Suntory and Nikka
- Small-batch mezcals and ultra-premium tequilas
- Rare single-malt Scotches from closed or limited distilleries
Because demand far outpaces supply, these bottles are distributed through a lottery or allocation system — meaning you can't just walk in and buy one. You have to enter for the chance to purchase.
How the OLCC Rare Bottle Program Works
The Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) manages the distribution of rare and allocated spirits in Oregon. When a distillery releases a limited allocation to the state, the OLCC runs a controlled entry process to determine who gets the opportunity to purchase.
Winners aren't given the bottle for free — they receive the right to purchase the bottle at retail price. It's a fair, transparent system that gives every Oregonian an equal shot at some of the rarest bottles in the world.
